In fact, the stats of how many will leave within the first year after entering this profession is pretty alarming and NAR shows that the average REALTOR only makes $45k per year.

Here are some tips from the pros on how to make your real estate career long lasting and prosperous.

  1. Act & Prepare as a Business Owner - Run your business like a business! Consistency, Staying top of mind, staying in touch and putting systems in place for post closing. Making sure to constantly stay in front of your sphere!

  2. Always be Learning! Real Estate is an industry that is always changing. Make sure to take classes and stay on top of market trends. Never think you know everything.

  3. Passion & Social Impact - Ensure your longevity by giving back to your local community, allowing others to trust your integrity and make sure you keep the work / life balance to not burn yourself out! Always make sure to take time for yourself and your family.

  4. Network, Network, Network - Whether making connections with other REALTORS for those long term referral partners, with your local business partners (vendors, attorneys, etc), always be on the lookout for networking opportunities.

  5. Find Your Niche - Find Your Passion - Find Your Tribe - By working with people that may already know, like & trust you or having your groups of people you already have a common interest in, it allows you to easily connect and get a rapport which will make it easier for referrals as well and you will enjoy working with them!
