Create Your Holiday Content in Canva Before You Need It

The holidays have a funny way of sneaking up on us. One minute it’s October, and the next you’re trying to create a Thanksgiving graphic while also wondering how Christmas is somehow only four weeks away.

Instead of scrambling for content at the last minute, use October to build a mini seasonal content kit in Canva that you can use throughout November, December, and even into the New Year. (I start this in September because the new year will creep up on us sooner than you think)!

Build Your Holiday Content Kit

Create a handful of reusable Canva templates for:

  • Thanksgiving and gratitude posts

  • Holiday home and decorating tips

  • Client appreciation messages

  • Local holiday events

  • Christmas and seasonal greetings

  • New Year posts

  • Year-end market updates

  • “Looking ahead to 2027” real estate content

You don’t need to create every individual post right now. Start with a few branded layouts that make it easy to swap out the photo, headline, or message when you're ready to use them.

Tech it Up: Don't Let the Holidays Hijack Your Brand

Your holiday graphics should still look like you.

Instead of suddenly turning your entire brand red, green, gold, and covered in candy canes, keep your normal fonts, colors, logo placement, and overall design style. Then add subtle seasonal touches like pumpkins, fall leaves, ornaments, snowflakes, greenery, or holiday photography.

This keeps your content festive without losing the brand recognition you've worked all year to build.

And here's the bonus: once you've created these templates, save them! Next year, you can duplicate the designs, update the dates and messaging, and have a huge head start on your holiday marketing.

Design Now. Relax Later!

A little prep in October can save you a whole lot of last-minute Canva scrambling in November and December.

Create the templates. Organize your seasonal content. Then enjoy having one less thing on your holiday to-do list.
