My Thoughts on the REMAX and Real Brokerage Merger

Like many of you, I found out when you found out.

And honestly? This one hit me emotionally in themany ways... Is this a scam email? It is April Fool's Day? Is REMAX going away? (As tears start filling my eyes because I have bled red, white & blue for over 20 Years)...

But then I sit back, calm down, listened to the 8:30 am Call about the merger with Real (listen to replay and download slides here).

For years, I have said that the real estate industry needed a better blend. We needed the power of an iconic brand, the energy of younger agents, stronger technology, better social media strategy, and more innovation all working together instead of living in separate corners of the industry.

That is why the announced merger between REMAX and Real Brokerage feels so significant.

REMAX has always been one of the most recognized names in real estate. The brand, the balloon, the network, and the entrepreneurial spirit of REMAX agents have shaped this industry for decades.

Real Brokerage, on the other hand, has built a reputation as one of the fastest-growing, technology-driven brokerages in the industry. Their model, culture, and focus on innovation have attracted agents who are thinking differently about how real estate is marketed, managed, and scaled in today’s world. And many of my friends have made the move over to Real so I am excited to be aligned again!

Together, this has the potential to be something very powerful.

The traditional franchise model has a long history and a strong foundation, but there is no denying that technology, social media, artificial intelligence, and consumer behavior have been moving fast. Agents today need more than a name on a sign. They need systems. They need training. They need tools that actually help them stay consistent, follow up, market themselves, and build relationships in a modern way.

That is what makes this merger so exciting to me.

It feels like the beginning of a new chapter where legacy and innovation can finally meet.

Real estate does not need more noise. It needs clearer systems, stronger training, smarter technology, and leaders who understand that agents are running real businesses.

And here is the part that really gives me chills: so many of the people who helped build Real have deep roots in the REMAX world. Many did not leave because REMAX was not valuable. They left because the industry was changing, technology was moving faster, and agents were looking for a different kind of platform.

Now, watching the excitement from both sides feels different.

This does not feel like corporate spin. It feels like people who understand the strength of REMAX and the momentum of Real are seeing what could happen when those two worlds finally come together.

  • The most recognized brand in real estate.

  • A fast-growing, tech-powered brokerage model.

  • Stronger systems.

  • Younger energy.

  • A deeper social media culture.

  • More innovation.

  • More opportunity.

That is exciting.

For us at Social Marketing Nut, this is also a moment we are paying close attention to. We have spent years helping REMAX brokerages and agents simplify their marketing, improve their websites, use their technology, create consistent content, and show up online with more confidence.

And now, we are excited to learn, train, and grow with the merging technologies that may come from this new combined platform.

We are also excited to open our services, training, and support to Real Associates who want help with marketing, social media, websites, content systems, and practical technology training.

Because at the end of the day, the brokerage name matters — but what matters even more is helping agents use the tools, systems, and opportunities in front of them.

I am proud of where REMAX has been.

I am excited about where Real has been going.

And I am even more excited about what this combined future could mean for agents, brokerages, and the industry as a whole.

This feels like more than a merger.

It feels like momentum.

And for the first time in a long time, I feel like the industry may be moving toward the blend I have been hoping for: iconic brand power, modern technology, smart training, social media culture, and agent-focused innovation all under one bigger vision.

I am not just proud to be part of the REMAX world.

I am excited about what it is becoming.
